1. Who is responsible for your data?
USTaxes.se is operated by DB Utbildning & Konsult AB, which is the data controller for the processing described in this policy where the GDPR applies.

2. What the site collects
USTaxes.se is an educational website. If you subscribe to the newsletter, we process the email address you provide and the record of your consent so we can manage your subscription and send U.S.–Sweden tax updates. Newsletter signup is optional. If you email us directly, we receive the address and message you choose to send so that we can respond. The professional-referral feature is not currently active.
Hosting infrastructure may automatically process technical information such as IP address, request time, browser/device information, requested URL and server/security logs. This information can be necessary to deliver, troubleshoot and protect the website.
Please do not send tax returns, Social Security numbers, account numbers or other sensitive tax details in ordinary email.
3. Third-party resources currently used
USTaxes.se loads Google Fonts for typography. When your browser requests those resources, Google may receive technical request information such as your IP address and browser information. The homepage also loads the Brevo signup form stylesheet and script so the newsletter form can operate. When your browser requests those resources, Brevo may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser information and page request.
4. Google Analytics and analytics consent
USTaxes.se uses Google Analytics with measurement ID G-DFGX37S8RC to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are visited and how visitors move through the site.
USTaxes.se uses Google Advanced Consent Mode. Analytics storage is set to denied by default. Before you make a choice, and after a decline, Google Analytics cookies are not permitted by our consent configuration. Google may nevertheless receive limited cookieless measurement signals under Consent Mode. This means that declining analytics storage does not necessarily mean no technical signal is sent to Google.
If you choose “Allow analytics”, analytics storage is updated to granted and Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers for fuller measurement.
Your consent choice is saved locally in your browser so that the website can remember it. You can reopen the consent controls at any time using “Cookie settings” in the footer and change your choice.
Advertising-related consent states remain denied in the current configuration, and Google Signals / ad-personalization signals are disabled.
5. Email updates
If you subscribe to our email updates, we collect your email address and the date and time of your signup and confirmation. We use it only to send USTaxes.se updates, and our legal basis is your consent. Emails are sent through Brevo, our email service provider, which processes your data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Brevo may also use some data for its own security purposes, such as preventing fraud; see Brevo’s Privacy Policy. We keep your address until you unsubscribe, which you can do with the link in any email. After that we delete it, or keep only what we need to make sure you aren’t emailed again. You can ask to access or delete your data at any time by writing to info@ustaxes.se, and you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
6. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, newsletter subscriptions are processed on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in newsletter emails or by contacting info@ustaxes.se. Responding to a message you send may rely on legitimate interests in handling correspondence; other processing may rely on a legal obligation or another applicable lawful basis, depending on the circumstances.
7. How long data is kept
We keep newsletter subscription information while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, we stop sending newsletter emails to that address. A limited suppression record may be retained by Brevo or by us as needed to honour your unsubscribe request and prevent accidental re-subscription or further sends. Brevo’s own retention and security practices are described in its privacy documentation. Technical server logs should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and operational purposes, subject to the hosting provider’s configuration. Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, follow up and meet applicable legal obligations.
8. Sharing and processors
USTaxes.se does not sell personal data. Google may process limited cookieless measurement signals under Consent Mode when analytics storage is denied, and may process fuller analytics data if a visitor consents to analytics storage. Hosting providers may process technical server data required to deliver and secure the website. Brevo processes newsletter subscription data to provide the mailing-list and email-delivery service and may process some information separately for platform security. We share only the information needed to operate these services.
9. International transfers
Google, Brevo and other infrastructure providers may process data outside Sweden or the European Economic Area depending on their service architecture and account configuration. Where required, applicable transfer mechanisms and safeguards should be in place under the relevant provider terms and data-processing arrangements. See Brevo’s Privacy Policy for information about its own processing. This description is not a substitute for checking the current Brevo account settings and contractual terms.
10. Your GDPR rights
Depending on the circumstances, GDPR rights can include the right to receive information, access personal data, correct inaccurate data, request erasure, restrict processing, object to certain processing and receive portable data. Where processing is based on consent, consent can generally be withdrawn without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
11. Security
USTaxes.se aims to use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information being processed. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
USTaxes.se is intended for adults dealing with U.S. tax and financial-compliance questions. We do not intentionally design the site to collect personal data directly from children.
13. Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when the site’s data practices materially change. The “Last updated” date will change when material changes are made.
